This Privacy Policy explains what information Bonded By Family (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit bondedbyfamily.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Contact form. When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the sender is not a bot.
- Newsletter. If you sign up for our emails, your email address (and first name, if you give it) is stored by our email provider, MailerLite, so we can send you the emails you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and comment you enter, along with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never published.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are read and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and pages visited. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Advertising. The Site shows ads served by third-party advertising partners, currently Mediavine through its Journey and Grow programs. These partners and their vendors may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to show ads, including ads based on your interests, and to measure ad performance.
- Security and performance. The Site uses Cloudflare to deliver pages quickly and protect against attacks, and security tools that log technical information such as IP addresses to block malicious traffic.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
Social sharing
Pages include sharing buttons for Pinterest and other networks. When you use one, the network may receive information about your visit under its own privacy policy.
How we use information
We use the information above to run and improve the Site, reply to messages, send emails you have signed up for, show ads that support the Site, measure how content performs, and keep the Site secure. We do not sell your contact details to anyone.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as intended without them. To limit interest-based advertising, you can visit Google Ad Settings, the Digital Advertising Alliance, Network Advertising Initiative or Your Online Choices (EU and UK). Visitors in regions that require consent are shown a consent prompt by our advertising partner, which you can use to accept or refuse cookies.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US state laws). To make a request, contact us on our contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages and comments for as long as they are needed for the purpose they were collected, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and analytics data for the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Children’s privacy
The Site is written for parents and other adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
